The owners wanted to bring their energy bill down permanently without a disruptive renovation. We tackled the building envelope first and only then the installation.
Cavity, floor and roof were insulated, all glazing was replaced with HR++ in new frames, and a hybrid heat pump was fitted with low-temperature radiators.
Gas consumption fell by more than sixty per cent in the first year.
